What is globalisation?

First of all, what is globalisation? the definition in the dictionary is that, globalisation (n) is the "process enabling financial and investment markets to operate internationally, largely as a result of deregulation and improved communications" (Collins). Basically it is the way that the global economy is growing. For example an English company trading with an Indian country where as before that English company would have done buisness with another English comanpy.

This progreses to an English company going over to India and setting up a factory there. The iniatial Benifits of this would mean that jobs are Created in a country Like India and Products would be made Cheaper for a country like England or America. This sounds like it is a win win situation for both countries involved. But what are the long term effects if this process, are they good or bad? Is there a line that turns this into exploition and cheap Labour? has it already been crossed? But then where would we be without it? Theese are the questions that i hope to answer during this blog.
